Information about conference centreThe conference center is in the mountains. Snow is possible in December, so keen skiers and mountain walkers should prepare themselves accordingly. Everyone else should bring warm clothes.
How to reach AussoisAussois is a ski resort in the French Alps close to the Italian border. We recommend to participants from overseas or North Europe to travel to Aussois by Paris (train or aeroplane).
Information on Arrivals and DeparturesArrival at the conference center at the end of the morning. A lunch will be served. By Train: Take a train to Modane on Monday morning. On the first and last day of the conference there will be a shuttle-bus between Modane train-station and the Centre Paul Langevin in Aussois. Shuttle-bus Modane to Aussois, Mon 1 Dec 11h15 in front of Modane train-station (Train Paris-Modane 6h41-10h49) By Car: See above link to google maps. Take autoroute A43 to Modane, then follow signs to Aussois. The Centre Paul Langevin is sign-posted from the centre of the village of Aussois (it is uphill from the village's centre). Please car-share, if possible. TALKS25min + 5min for questions, except a few special talks (see the programme). Please aim at least half of your talk at students starting their PhD, explain to them why the general subject area is interesting, what question your work answers, and in what way it is important.
